HeartShare Human Services Celebrates 100 Years Of Community Care And Service

HeartShare Human Services of New York recently reached a very special milestone! This year marks their 100th year of helping those in need of special services and support throughout their community reach their full potential and lead healthy, productive and fulfilling lives. How did the company commemorate their centennial anniversary? By hosting the 2014 Spring Gala & Auction at the New York Marriott Marquis.

How The 2014 Spring Gala & Auction Complements HeartShare's Core Philosophy

The annual Spring Gala, HeartShare's largest fundraising event throughout the year, has one primary purpose: to help raise the funds needed to allow HeartShare the opportunity to continue to serve and support the many children and families with distinctive needs throughout New York. This premier event not only held a fabulous silent auction, but also included an evening filled with celebrity attendees and an awards ceremony to honor and celebrate some of the many individuals who have helped support HeartShare's core philosophy and purpose throughout the year, as well as in years past.

Highlights Of This Year's 2014 Spring Gala & Auction

Q104.3 celebrity, Jim Kerr, emceed the evening's festivities that celebrated the 2014 Gala honorees as well as commemorated the distinguished men and women who were honored at previous galas from 1979 through 2013. One of the many event highlights included announcing the recipient of the prestigious 2014 HeartShare Genie Foundation Award, which was awarded to Carlo A. Scissura, Esq., President of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce.

Additionally, the 2014 Gala housed a large number of previous years' honorees, who all came together to celebrate HearthShare's centennial. Some of the special guests included Victoria's Secret CEO Sharen Juster Turney, 2005 recipient of the prestigious Dr. Catherine White Award. Former honorees were also in attendance, such as:

· National Grid President Kenneth D. Daly (2012)

· CEO and President of American Stock Transfer Company LLC Mark C. Healy (2011)

  • Get Smart actress "Agent 99" Barbara Feldon (2007)

· Emmy Award winning actress Linda Dano (1992) and actor Danny Aiello (1990)

HeartShare's president and CEO William R. Guarinello articulated why honoring both HeartShare's current and previous year honorees proved a perfect way to celebrate this significant birthday; "This is our way of showing them that we haven't forgotten [the former honorees], and what they did and are doing for HeartShare," he said. "So we would like to present a token of our appreciation, which pales in comparison to their contributions. But when people look at these awards, they will know that we love and appreciate their kindness to HeartShare and those whom rely on it."
